January marks the start of our new monthly rotating-DJ shows. Each show is dedicated to a specific type of music and will happen once a month, with a different DJ each time. Currently we have shows lined up for Easy Listening/Acoustic, Metal/Industrial, Country, and 80's & 90's Pop & Hip Hop. Keep an eye on our calendar to see when those shows happen so you can tune in and hear your favorite music. In February we're going to be holding a GSP In-Game Fundraiser to raise some credits for our org. We're working on an awesome list of prizes for different levels of donations for the event, as well as the exact date of the event, but it's going to be super fun. All of the credits we receive are recycled directly back into the AO community in the contests we hold during our shows. We're certainly taking regular donations currently, but we're really hoping to get a great turnout for the Fundraiser event so we can accept your credits AND get some cool rewards out to our supporters. We'll let everyone know the exact date and time soon. Lastly, our good friends over at AO Universe are launching a new, revamped website on Wednesday, January 11th. I use the guides at AOU all the time, especially when I'm playing professions I'm not familiar with, doing quests I haven't done before, and I love the Ariens GUI panel that's available on their website. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us on the new site! AO Universe and GSP are building a great friendship and are looking forward to finding ways to work together for the benefit of our great community. ~ Sprkly
I've seen some negative reactions to his leaving - even people saying that AO will die. This, I know, is far from what's going to happen. Means was truly stretched to his limit filling both roles as Game Director and Producer. They're separating those positions now to be filled by the new Producer, Ilaliya, and our new Game Director, Lindelu. The fact that they're now dedicating more staff to AO, don't you think that's a good sign? I'm excited to see what Ilaliya and Lindelu will be doing for us in the months and year ahead. Lindelu has already proved to have a love for this community, and that kind of passion is what has kept AO alive for over ten years. It's that kind of passion that we here at GSP use to keep doing what we do as well. Have no fear, my friends. AO is safe and moving in a positive direction, probably more rapidly now than any of us think. And GSP will be here to entertain the community as we always have. Good luck to you, Means. This year's Winter Bash will be on Thursday, December 29th at The Grind. We'll start on RK1 at 7am EST/noon GMT and move over to RK2 at 3pm EST/8pm GMT for another 8 hours. It's a 16-hour party! Don't you love these marathon events? In other news, we're planning to have a GSP fundraiser (for in-game credits, of course) sometime after the beginning of the new year. While we don't have a date set just yet, we want to get the word out that we're planning this special event. We're hoping to use the event to raise funds for our org bank so we can continue to give them away in contests like we do. We'll have prizes we can offer to those who reach certain levels of donations that involve us doing fun things with you. It's going to be a great party with some extra fun activities afterward as we follow up on those prizes. Thanks for tuning in and coming to our shows! We've had so much fun these last few months with our crowd and listener counts increasing. It makes us all warm and fuzzy when we feel the love from you all.
